Consultant Neurologist, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Alsaadi is a Chief Medical officer and the Chair of the Neurology Department at the American Center of Psychiatry & Neurology (ACPN). He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Neurology at Khalifa University. He was trained in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of California San Francisco and was a research fellow in Epilepsy there. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology and the American Board of Neurology in Clinical Epilepsy.
Before joining ACPN, Dr. Alsaadi was the Chief of the Neurology Department at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City for 11 years. He previously held a position as an Associate Professor of Neurology and the Director of the Adult Epilepsy Program and the Clinical Research Program at the University of California Davis. His research has focused on conducting drug study trials for new antiepileptic drugs for patients with epilepsy, quality of life in patients with epileptic and non-epileptic disorders, migraine headaches, multiple sclerosis, and neuropsychiatric comorbidities. Dr. Alsaadi has been honored with several prestigious awards for his work in the field of epilepsy. He has served on the Advisory Board of the Northern California Epilepsy Foundation and the membership committee of the American Epilepsy Society. He has previously served as the President of the Western Clinical Neurophysiology Society in the United States and as the Vice President of CEMA (Commission of the Eastern Mediterranean Affairs). He is currently the President of the Emirati League against epilepsy and the Chair of the ILAE Commission for epilepsy in the elderly. He serves as a member of the Guideline Development Group (GDG) for the WHO. He also serves on the Editorial Board for BMC Journal of Neurology and Journal of Neurosciences. He has authored and co-authored more than 80 papers and book chapters and has served as a peer-reviewer for more than 15 scientific journals.
Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Lead - Psychiatry Services, Deputy CMO
Prof. George Tadros is Consultant Psychiatrist and geriatric psychiatrist at ACPN. He achieved his Doctorate in Medicine degree (MD) in 2004 from Keele University, UK. He completed his psychiatric training in the UK and became Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1998 and was granted fellowship in 2016. He first qualified as Psychiatrist and Neurologist (PGDip) in 1993.
Prof. George Tadros comes to ACPN from the UK with two decades of in-depth experience in the field of Psychiatry. He has extensive experience in medical practice and academia. Prior to joining ACPN, he worked as Consultant Psychiatrist for the elderly and Liaison Psychiatrist at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. He also worked as the Clinical Director of Urgent Psychiatric Care in Birmingham and Solihull, UK, from 2015 for three years and Deputy Medical Director from 2018 for over two years. He developed an award-winning liaison psychiatry model in the UK and is recognized for his clinical work and service developments. He was awarded Bronze National Clinical Excellence Award in 2012 and Silver National Clinical Excellence Award in 2016. Prof. Tadros held academic posts as Professor of Psychiatry and Dementia in Aston Medical School, Aston University, UK from 2016. He also holds the post of visiting professor of elderly care in acute hospitals at Chester University, UK, from 2014 onwards. He is an adjunct professor of psychiatry at Cairo Medical School, Cairo University, Egypt since 2019.
Prof. Tadros is highly skilled in psychiatry in general and specialized in geriatric psychiatry. He deals with a wide range of psychiatric disorders in older people and aging related disorders. Furthermore, as a liaison psychiatrist, he is also interested in organic psychiatry where physical disorders lead to or interplay with psychiatric presentations. He has twenty years’ experience in running memory clinics for older and younger people. His area of interest includes management of dementia and associated behavioral problems. With years of experience in training staff and families, he ensures delivery of sustainable ongoing support to the elderly with all forms of health conditions. He believes in providing holistic and all-encompassing support to all.
