
Ms. Amna Javaid is a Clinical Psychologist at ACPN. She completed her post-graduate degree in clinical psychology from University of the Punjab, Pakistan in the year 2010, and her undergrad in 2008 respectively. She further received specialist training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy from the Beck Institute, USA focusing on anxiety disorders including OCD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, panic disorders and phobias. She has also completed her basic and level-1 training in EMDR. She is licensed as a clinical psychologist in Abu Dhabi and in Pakistan.
With seven years of working with children, adolescents and adults in UAE and Pakistan, Ms. Amna managed cases related to neurodevelopmental disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and substance use disorders. Before joining ACPN in 2023, she worked at prominent healthcare providers including HealthHub Al-Futtaim in Dubai and Kids Heart Medical Center in Al Ain as a Clinical Psychologist for three years cumulatively. Additionally, she served as a clinical supervisor to trainee psychologists from University of the Punjab and United Arab Emirates University.
Ms. Amna’s approach to treatment employs a range of integrative psychotherapy interventions including cognitive behavior therapy and behavior modification therapy along with other evidence-based treatments. With a special interest in neurodevelopmental disorders and anxiety disorders in children and adolescents, she is adept at conducting psychoeducational assessments including ADOS -2, IQ assessments, ADHD and achievement tests among others.

Dr. Mohamad Ayman Haykal, MD, is a Staff Physician within the Neurology Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Neurological Institute.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Haykal served as the Director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Beaumont Health, Michigan, and Assistant Professor of Neurology at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, Michigan, US.
Dr. Haykal received his medical degree from Damascus University in Syria. He completed his residency training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He is board certified in Neurology and Epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a also a fellow of the American Epilepsy Society and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.
Throughout his tenure, Dr. Haykal has specialized in the evaluation and treatment of refractory epilepsy, including intracranial monitoring, epilepsy surgery and neuromodulation.
Currently, Dr. Haykal resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and three children. When he’s not working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Haykal enjoys photography, reading and traveling.

Prof. Elias Chedid is a Consultant Psychiatrist at ACPN. He earned his Doctorate in Medicine (MD) in 1993 from Saint Joseph University of Beirut, Lebanon, and completed higher training in adult psychiatry from St. Joseph University and Paris Descartes Faculty of Medicine, France, in 1997. He is a licensed consultant in psychiatry with the DoH, Abu Dhabi.
Prof. Chedid’s career spans multiple prestigious roles with 27 years of clinical and academic expertise. In his clinical practice, Prof. Chedid joined the Department of Psychiatry and Addictology at Saint Charles Hospital in 1998, where he served as Head of Department from 2006 to 2018. He later joined the Psychiatry and Behavioral Department at Bellevue Medical Center in 2019. Prof. Chedid was appointed to the CME committee at the Arab Board of Psychiatry in 2023 and is a co-founding member of the Lebanese Association for the Protection of Children of War and their Families (APEG-Lebanon). Since 2012, he has been an active member of the Lebanese Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ALTCC). Before joining ACPN, he served as the Professor and Head of the Psychiatry Department at the Faculty of Medicine at the Lebanese University. He has also been an Associate Professor at the University of Balamand and an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of the Lebanese University. He has extensive experience teaching undergrad and master’s psychology students in psychiatric disorders, psychobiology, clinical developmental psychology, and cognitive neurosciences, and has tutored many completing their master’s and PhD theses.

Dr. Hamdy Moselhy is Consultant in Psychiatry at ACPN. He trained in psychiatry at Benha University Hospital, Egypt and acquired a Master’s degree in Psychiatry and Neurology in 1990 and followed on from there with an MD in 2002. Dr. Moselhy trained in the UK acquiring a Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland in 1997, successively acquiring a Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK (MRCPsych) in 1997 and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) in 2011. Dr. Moselhy holds medical licensure in psychiatry in the UK and UAE.
With an experience spanning three decades, Dr. Moselhy’s cross-disciplinary approach has seen him excel at inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, teaching, management & administration, research & publications, medico-legal systems, as well as voluntary & philanthropic initiatives. Before joining ACPN, he started the first de-addiction treatment and rehabilitation center in Dubai’s private sector in 2016. Alongside this, he setup the first Master’s program in Addiction Sciences at Dubai Medical College. Since 2006, Dr. Moselhy held posts as Professor and Consultant Psychiatrist in UAE University and Al Ain General Hospital eventually taking a the lead as Professor and Chairman of Psychiatry department for four years until 2016.
Before his arrival to the UAE, Dr. Moselhy spent over a decade in the UK starting off as Registrar Psychiatrist through the All Birmingham Training Scheme. His last appointment was Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist for cases of substance abuse at the Sandwell Mental Health and Social Care NHS Trust for three years until 2006. Over the years, Dr. Moselhy’s insights across practical and theoretical teaching saw him train many postgraduate and undergraduate students at prestigious medical universities in UK and the UAE including University of Birmingham, Wolverhampton University, University of London and the UAE University.

His research focuses on cognitive impairment and mental wellbeing, with numerous publications and international presentations.

Ms. Hind Alboushra is a Clinical Psychologist at ACPN. She completed her master’s degree with honors in trauma at University of Ahfad, Sudan in 2017 with her bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology with honors from Ribat University, Sudan in 2014. She is a licensed psychologist with the Ministry of Health and Prevention in the UAE, and Sudanese National Council for Medical & Health Professions.
Ms. Alboushra has more than eight years of experience in the field of mental health and providing therapy services. Ms. Alboushra specializes in individual therapy for adults, young adults and teenagers, and provides evidence-based cognitive therapy. Since 2016, she has held positions in psychology on various fronts including direct provision of therapy services, academic teaching, and clinical program development and delivery through entities including teaching hospitals, federal bodies, NGOs, and privately held care providers.
Her field of experience is in treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, prolonged grief disorder, and child behavioral problems. Ms. Leandra Fourie is an Occupational Therapist at ACPN Al Ain. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Free State, South Africa, in 2012 and holds a Diploma in Healthcare Management and Leadership from Westford University (2022). She is licensed to practice in both South Africa (HPCSA) and the UAE (DOH, Abu Dhabi).
With over 12 years of experience, Ms. Fourie worked across diverse settings including outpatient pediatrics, early intervention, pediatric long-term care, post-acute rehabilitation, and home care services. Her clinical expertise spans South Africa, Kuwait, and the UAE, where she provided therapy for children with neurodevelopmental and sensory integration needs. Ms. Fourie practiced in specialized pediatric centers, nurseries for children with early intervention programs, and long-term care facilities in the UAE, including Amana Healthcare and Danat Al Emarat Women and Children’s Hospital. She held leadership roles in quality improvement initiatives, therapy program coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration, and received recognition through the 2024 Clinical Educator Recognition Award.
Her areas of special interest include early childhood development, sensory processing disorders, cerebral palsy, neurodevelopmental conditions, and family-centered intervention. Dr. Mayada Abdulla Banaja is a Consultant Psychiatrist at ACPN. She holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, in 1996 progressing to a specialized diploma in Psychotherapy and Sociotherapy from Paris Descartes University (Paris V), France in 2007. Dr. Banaja is certified in group psychotherapy by the American Group Psychotherapy Association and has a fellowship in family systemic therapy from Centre Moncaeu, Paris, France. She is a licensed psychiatrist in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Her career spans two decades of experience in psychiatry across Saudi Arabia and France. Prior to joining ACPN, Dr. Banaja served as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist in King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz University Hospital managing outpatient and inpatient psychiatry and leading the residency program there. She held a dual role of clinical and academics with an oversight of tutoring and supervision as well as examinations for resident psychiatrists and psychologists. She previously also served in premier institutions across the kingdom including Prince Sultan Medical Military City for nine years until 2016, and as Deputy Head of the Department of Psychiatry at the Military Hospital in Riyadh for four years until 2015. Her career in France saw her focusing on teaching and training in psychiatry at Tarnier Hospital for four years until 2007.

Maya Fleifel Sidani joined the American Center for Psychology and Neurology – Dubai Office as a Clinical Psychologist with 20 years of international experience gained in the USA, Egypt, and the UAE. Maya was most recently serving as Lead Clinical Psychologist at Al Noor Hospital (Abu Dhabi) from 2011-2015.
Prior to Al Noor Hospital, Maya was a Clinical Psychologist at the Human Relations Institute, in Dubai from 2004 to 2011. Before moving to the UAE, Maya resided in Egypt and served as a Researcher at the National Institute of Cancer; focusing on children with cancer. In 2001, Maya served as a Crisis Intervention Counselor at the Arab-American Family Support Center (Brooklyn, New York). He is licensed with DOH Abu Dhabi, and holds additional memberships with the International Society of Substance Use Professionals and the International Society of Sport Psychiatry.
With over 13 years of experience in adult psychiatry, Dr. Siddig served in prominent psychiatric institutions in the UAE. He began his psychiatric residency at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in 2012, advancing to specialist psychiatrist. At SKMC’s Behavioral Sciences Pavilion, he worked across rehabilitation, community psychiatry, and liaison services, also taking on teaching and CME coordination responsibilities. In 2018, he joined the National Rehabilitation Center, Abu Dhabi, leading inpatient psychiatric services for individuals with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders, while also serving on the education committee. Ms. Mariam Al-Salahat is a Psychologist at ACPN. She obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Jordan in 2011 and her bachelor’s degree in 2007. She is a licensed psychologist in Jordan and the UAE, Abu Dhabi. Ms. Al-Salahat has over fourteen years of experience in mental health and clinical psychology in Jordan working across specialized treatment centers.
She gained experience working at NGOs including: Swedish Organization for Individual Relief, Center for Victims of Torture, Jordan River Foundation, OXFAM GB, CARE International, and World Vision international. She has worked with various populations including: inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, and psychosocial support for victims of gender-based violence and war trauma.
Her role involved designing and implementing therapy and psychosocial support, family counseling, supervision and training of care teams, policy making, and leading community and public centric care and awareness campaigns. Ms. AlSalahat is a certified coach and trainer on mental health topics in Writing and Narrative Therapy.

Dr. Nasser El Hindy is an experienced General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). He had completed his higher training in general adult psychiatry and awarded his (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry from the UK. He was also awarded a diploma in Clinical Psychiatry (DCP) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin. Dr. Nasser had also obtained a diploma in Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (Dip. CBT) from Oxford College in 2012. He obtained his Master’s Degree (MSc) in Leadership and Management in Health Services with Commendation from Kingston University in the UK.Dr. Nasser has completed basic and higher training in Psychiatry in the UK and later he practiced as a consultant at the National Health Services, he managed to gain great experience at his clinical and academic education. Dr. Rami Alshihabi is a Senior Clinical Psychologist at ACPN. Prior to joining ACPN, he was Director of Counseling and Senior Wellness Counselor at New York University, Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) health and wellness center. Dr. Alshihabi received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2004 from the Alliant International University – California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles and remains a licensed clinical psychologist in the USA.
His role prior to joining NYUAD was at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi where he worked as Senior Clinical Psychologist after his relocation from the US in 2007. He then was assigned as Head of Psychology Department at the Behavioral Science Pavilion (BSP) at SKMC in 2013 which he held for three years prior to joining NYUAD. Dr. Alshihabi has over 20 years of experience in assessing and treating all forms of mental health and social problems in adults, older adults, children, adolescents, families and couples. In addition to working with students at NYUAD and clients in the Abu Dhabi community, Dr. Alshihabi is a senior DOH License Examiner for all psychologists seeking DOH licensure in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Sherif Hassan is a Consultant Psychiatrist at ACPN. Dr. Sherif’s educational journey saw him graduate from Alexandria University in Egypt, commencing his psychiatric training in the United Kingdom in 2005. In 2013, he became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK.
Committed to continuous learning, he gained his MSc degree in psychiatric practice from Hertfordshire University in 2014, focusing on community services development. Dr. Sherif completed his Higher Specialty Training in Old Age Psychiatry in Health Education East of England, Cambridge, earning the Certificate of Completion of Training in the UK in 2016. He holds medical licensures in both the UK and the UAE, providing psychiatric care with the highest standards of professionalism.
Dr. Sherif’s career in psychiatry spans over sixteen years, reflecting a journey of growth and impact. He joined ACPN in 2023 from Al Ain Hospital (SEHA), bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience to this esteemed institution. Before moving from the UK to the UAE in 2020 to join SEHA, he worked for four years as a Consultant Psychiatrist for the old age in the Greater Manchester region, making significant contributions in both hospital and community services. Notably, he led a memory assessment service, enhancing diagnostic and treatment capabilities. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Sherif’s academic pursuits led to an Adjunct Assistant Professorship at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the United Arab Emirates University. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he received the Clinical Teaching Excellence Award for the academic year 2021-22. Dr. Sherif’s commitment to service development is underpinned by a holistic and culturally sensitive approach leaving a lasting impact on the organizations and communities he continues to serve.
Dr. Sherif’s professional interests encompass a wide range of functional and neurodegenerative psychiatric disorders, including mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, phobias, obsessivecompulsive disorder, schizophrenia, and dementia. Dr. Sherif’s journey is marked by a commitment to improving mental health outcomes for his patients and communities, founded on collaboration, trust, and medical excellence in the field of psychiatry.
Consultant Psychiatrist (Geriatric), ACPN

Dr. Tarek Shahrour is a Consultant Psychiatrist at ACPN. Dr. Shahrour graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University in 1993. Before his journey in the field of psychiatry, he completed an internship gaining two years of experience in internal medicine in Ireland. He joined the Psychiatry Training Scheme of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, becoming a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. Dr. Shahrour completed his training as a Consultant in Rehabilitation Psychiatry at St. Brendan’s Hospital, Dublin, Ireland. He is a licensed psychiatrist in Abu Dhabi.
With a distinguished career spanning over 13 years at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Dr. Shahrour served as a General Adult-Liaison Psychiatrist, Program Director of Psychiatry Residency Training Program, and Chair of the Department. His early career in Ireland saw him in the role of leading the psychiatric team, in caring for the homeless in inner-city northern Dublin. Dr. Shahrour’s international experience extended to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2005, where he established and managed psychiatric services in the National Guards Health Affairs in the Saudi Eastern Region for five years. His journey eventually led him to Abu Dhabi’s SKMC in 2010, where he held his most recent post. With a multifaceted role in academics and clinical practice, Dr. Shahrour also held teaching positions at prominent universities including Khalifa University, Gulf Medical University, and University of Dublin. Dr. Shahrour’s clinical focus centers on treating general adult psychiatry cases, with expertise in managing conditions such as psychosomatic disorders, migraines, psychogenic vomiting, and eating disorders. He has a profound interest in various aspects of psychiatry, including addressing the stigma associated with the field, psychosomatic disorders, the intersection of psychiatry and philosophy, and the use of cognitive analytic psychotherapy. Dr. Shahrour is an active participant as a member of the Review Committee of the ACGME. He currently serves as a member of the Accreditation Committee for the Psychiatry Training Program in the Arab Board. With a career of leadership, education, and a dedication to addressing complex psychiatric conditions, Dr. Tarek Shahrour continues to make a significant impact in the field of psychiatry.

Dr. Waed Almnaizel is a Psychosocial Counselor at ACPN. She completed her Doctorate degree in Psychological Counseling with Honors from The Yarmouk University, Jordan, in 2022. She is a licensed psychologist in Jordan and the UAE, Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Almnaizel comes to Abu Dhabi from Jordan, where she gained experience in mental health and clinical psychology of over seven years. She worked for CARE International, Jordan as Psychosocial Counselor for five years before her arrival in Abu Dhabi in 2022. She is a skilled at supporting individuals suffering from mental or emotional distress such as relationship problems or bereavement, and working with people who have diverse needs, using a variety of therapeutic techniques including approaches to treatment to help a person manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions.
Dr. Almnaizel works with adults and children with anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, social phobia, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and other mental health challenges. She is skilled in behavioral monitoring, psychological testing, research methods, rehabilitation techniques, and psychometrics.
